The Camper Incident Heading to Huntington Beach SC

On our way out of town we got to see the North Side of Charleston for a couple days. We broke a leaf spring on the camper about 1 mile from James Island and spent our travel day finding a flat bed to tow the camper and an RV repair place to take on the project.

A special thank you to the grounds keeper of the church we pulled into. He was gracious and helpful opening the church for us to use facilities and offering water. We spent two days in a hotel while Camping World put in 2 new leaf springs and a little wheel bearing service, then we were back on the road.

As we followed the tow track with the camper, the tire cover on the back of the camper said “Adventure – Explore More Worry Less”. We had a good laugh at that.

There was a need to eat a bunch of food before it went bad, so this is what 2 lbs. of shrimp and a ton of broccoli looks like. (we had a kitchenette in the hotel)

I think Odie would have preferred to stay in the hotel.

Despite the troubles, we made it Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina just a couple days late.  Our campsite was spectacular! Lots of space, a concrete pad that was nice and level and just off the beach. Just a small row of trees and a couple sand dunes separated us from the Beach. We could hear the Atlantic waves crashing on shore from our campsite all day and night! Loved that. The dogs were also welcome on the beach, and we took full advantage going on daily walks.
