In preparation for our 2024 Winter “Get the Hellouta MN” trip, we picked a theme – Abandoned Places – and began with the abandoned United Crushers Mill building in Minneapolis to whet our whistle. The Mill is an old unused flour mill and is located between the TCF stadium on the U of M campus and Malcolm Yards at 419 SE 29th Ave. Mpls. If you can get to the roof, you can see people dining at the Malcolm Yards patio. It still exists in this location only because it is too expensive to demolish.
We were not able to get into the building because in the last couple years, Minneapolis has dropped huge concrete blocks in front of most entrances.
