The many changes of the level of Lake Michigan have left behind large amounts of sand dunes and a huge long sandy beach! I’m sure this is gorgeous on a nice sunny summer day but we went on the only day we had … it was 38 and blowing rain!
There is a challenging way over the dunes to the beach or there is an easy flat way. I’d suggest the flatter way!
This is NOT the stairway to heaven, just sayin’
The beach and lake were gorgeous! The weather soaked us through and although the dogs have a very large comfortable area where the back seat was removed from the crew cab, after this day they chose to be close together.
We were rewarded with some amazing crepes!!!
And then we drove to Milwaukee, around Chicago area in a “rain turned to sleet and ice turned to snow” storm. The camper was packed solid with ice. Good thing we had winterized it at the last place! The dogs were very happy to be in a hotel. I could tell by their snoring.
We had a amazing seafood dinner for my birthday with Kyle at Mitchell’s Fish Cafe as he goes to school in Milwaukee! I took a picture of the food but not of any of us. Oops!
Texas Roadhouse across the street from the hotel was perfect…stuffed bison and all.
Heading home in the morning! It’s bittersweet.
