Mountains In Your Face

We met Alan’s brother Erik and sister-in-law Lalani for a couple days of skiing and relaxing in Taos, New Mexico.  We stayed 4 nights at “Mountains in your Face” VRBO and it did not disappoint.

Alan and Erik spent 2 days skiing at Taos Ski Valley, a ski resort established in 1955 with the 4th highest elevation of any triple chair in North America (12,481 feet).   The resort is shadowed by Wheeler Peak, the tallest mountain in New Mexico at 13,161 feet.  At the bottom of lift #4 we found an excellent place to stop for an afternoon beer and some German food, the Bavarian Restaurant.  Taos was the perfect place to spend our 21st consecutive year of mountain skiing!

Walking under the bright stars in the New Mexican night ski and relaxing in the hot tub were perfect ways to end our days.
Tasty home cooked meals, card games and lots of laughs made for a relaxing vacation in the mountain house.

The Rio Grande Gorge and the Gorge Bridge, one of Americas highest bridges was impressive for sure.  We also enjoyed an Authentic New Mexican dinner at Antonio’s The Taste of Mexico and an excellent farm to table lunch at the Farmhouse Café and Bakery.

Farmhouse Cafe. local, organic, and made with love.

We still don’t know the difference between a Speed BUMP and a Speed HUMP.  We may never know.
