Night and Day in Savannah

One evening, we ventured out of our little piece of the country to take a haunted trolley tour of the historic city of Savannah.  Much to our surprise we were 2 turns and about 3 miles from the heart of the city!  Wow! We had no idea we were so close to town. Although we saw a lot, we didn’t take many pictures.

The haunted trolley tour was as cheesy as we expected but still fun to see the city and hear the haunted history. We also had dinner included at the Pirate House. I have many pitch black photos of dark places trying to catch an orb, but no orbs, no chills, no ghosts to be found.
Love the old architecture!
The old Candler Hospital, thought to be haunted.
The big oak tree is Candler Oak and is estimated to have been growing since the 1700’s, making it one of the oldest living landmarks in the Savannah area. It has also been known to have ghostly apparitions hanging from the branches and it known as one of the most haunted places in Georgia. It is outside the old Chandler Hospital where the Yellow Fever outbreak killed hundreds of people during the late 19th century. There was a tunnel going from the hospital, under the park where the dead would be placed to be picked up by horse-drawn carriage at night in the park.  You may remember that a major problem with Yellow Fever was that patients in comas were determined to be dead and many were buried alive. Hence, the reason the Savannah area is so haunted and the cemeteries and buildings are well-known for their frequent apparition sightings.
