Let’s just say there is a lot more money put into the churches than the homes or businesses or roads! There are dilapidated abandoned buildings everywhere and obviously a very low standard of building codes. I could see how the Marty Byrdes of the world could hide money there! Stopped to support local Mexican place (in Northern Mississippi).

We pulled into our Bay Hideaway camp site at 6:15pm and it was dead quiet! We had to whisper during set up. We saw no one until about 9am the next morning! Very nice place for large RV retired living though! Very friendly helpful owners, a dog park and lots of activities for guests.

The Mississippi Gulf was the actual epicenter of Hurricane Katrina but they are recovering nicely, and all homes are on 25 foot stilts to avoid flooding. The Bay Hideaway Campground was home to FEMA for 2 years of rebuilding there. We hit the local TBT (The Blind Tiger) for mahi mahi and spicy shrimp tacos and local brews!

We made it to the Ocean! First time for both dogs! They loved it!
